Wednesday 3 June

Pub Night (New event) - From 8.00pm onwards at the Nags Head Hotel, New Hey Road, Ainley Top, HD2 2EA. Paul will be hosting this first Pub Night.

Sunday 7 June

A riverside walk from Hebden Bridge to Gibson's mill, Hardcastle Crags. There is an exhibition - Splintered Garden by local artist Jessica Rose who produces mosaics from junk and treasures along with paintings inspired by the natural world. Plus of course tea and cakes in the mill cafe. Admission to mill, £3.60. Meet 1.30pm outside tourist info office.

Wednesday 10 June

Club Night - Hosted by Sylvia. From 8.00pm onwards at the Old Golf House Hotel. The Film and Theatre Group no longer exists as a formal meeting. Anyone interested in this type of event is asked to bring appropriate - information leaflets, brochures etc - to this club night so that theatre/film trips etc can be organised between interested members.

Friday 12 June

Orchestral Concert at Huddersfield Town Hall, 7.30pm.
The final Orchestral Concert of the season hosts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra playing Shostakovich's Symphony no. 5, in excellent company alongside Mozart's Piano Concerto No.21 in C major. Tickets in the area are £11, plus concessions.


Friday 12 June

Hepworth Film Night, 7.25 (for 7.30 start)
Sylvia got me in to this great monthly event. The film this month is "In Bruges" (link to Time Out Review is: http://www.timeout.com/film/reviews/85135/In_Bruges.html). It starts at 7.30 but you need to get there at 7.15 to get a seat. If you ring me beforehand I will save you one as I intend to get there at about 7.00. Entry is about £3.00 and there is a bar. It's a great atmosphere. We could possibly go for a drink afterwards if people wanted.

Sunday 14th June

Walk - Cannon Hall and Gardens
A 6-ish mile walk from her house in Clayton West over to Canon Hall Park. Plenty of scope for tea and biscuits at Cannon Hall and an opportunity to walk round the gardens or even get lost in the Maize Maze!

Concert at Huddersfield Town Hall, 7.30pm
Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra and Holmfirth Choral Society. Vaughan Williams - Symphony No 8. Orff - Carmina Burana. Tickets in the area are £9.50 with concessions at £7.00.

Sunday 21 June

Walk - Welcome to Summer!
Meet 11 am in the car park behind Emley post office for a 7-mile walk through fields and open countryside around Emley and Flockton. Bring a packed lunch. This walk will be open to members of the public, so please come and support us and make any visitors welcome.

Tuesday 23 June

Evening Walk
Meet 7:30 pm in the car park below Ryburn Reservoir for a walk round the reservoir and up to Baitings Dam - approx 3 miles - some muddy paths. To reach the car park, take the A58 Rochdale road out of Ripponden. Continue until you emerge into open countryside (1 ½ miles?) then turn left into Swift Place and follow the track down to the car park. From memory, Swift Place is just after the de-restriction signs and there is a brown sign for the res - but haven't checked recently.

Ten Pin Bowling - Electric Bowl Halifax
From 8pm onwards.

Saturday 27 June

Bar meal: at The White House Halifax Rd, Blackstone edge, OL15 0LG. This should be a good drive out on a summer evening (and it might be).
