Wednesday 1 July
Pub Night - This month the pub night is at the Colliers Arms, Park Road, Elland HX5 5HZ. Travelling from Elland to Brighouse, the pub is on the right hand side, just before the crematorium. Look for us in the conservatory or if a nice night on the canal side.
Saturday 4 July
Fun Treasure Hunt - The Royal British Legion Illingworth and Bradshaw Branch are having a Fun Treasure Hunt at Ogden Water. Entry fee is £2.50 per team/individual. Start time 2.30 pm at Ogden Water bottom car park (off the A629 Halifax to Keighley Road). Teams, families and individuals are all welcome. There are three main prizes: 1 Veteran individual/team prize, 1 family prize and 1 under 16's team/individual prize. There is a supplementary prize for an extra woodland trail, any grouping. The main treasure hunt will be around the main waterside footpath and is suitable for all including wheelchairs and pushchairs. Winners will be notified after everyone has completed the hunt, in the Causeway Foot Inn, where food and drink will be available for purchase.
Saturday 4 July
Concert On The Hill, 7.15pm YMCA Sports and Social Club, Salendine Nook, Huddersfield. Honley & Colne Valley Male Voice Choirs, Lindley Brass Band, New Orleans Jazz Band and Soloist Julia Garbutt. This year special guests are the award-winning Lindley Junior School Choir. Tickets £8 in advance, £10 on the night. Bring something to sit on, something to eat and drink, and may be something to keep you warm.
Sunday 5 July
Traditional Jazz Night at the Old Bridge Hotel, Holmfirth 8 pm - 10.30 pm. £4 on the door. Meals available. Arrive at 7.30pm to secure a table.
Monday 6 July
American Independence Day Jazz Train, with the Train Gang. The train leaves Huddersfield at 19:18, returning at Huddersfield at 21:56, calling at all stations. The return fare from Huddersfield is £7.40. If there is a ticket office open you now have to buy your ticket before boarding the train, otherwise you can pay on the train. There is a bar on board.
Wednesday 8 July
Club Night - Hosted by Deborah. From 8.00pm onwards at the Old Golf House Hotel. The Film and Theatre Group no longer exists as a formal meeting. Anyone interested in this type of event is asked to bring appropriate - information leaflets, brochures etc - to this club night so that theatre/film trips etc can be organised between interested members.
Sunday 12 July
Walk - Yorkshire Sculpture park and Back
A 6ish mile walk to the beautiful Yorkshire Sculpture Park at Bretton. There will be time to look around the exhibitions for those who want to. Plenty of scope for tea and cakes! Packed lunch, boots and waterproofs.
Wednesday 15 July Bulletin Deadline
Club Night - Hosted by Kenneth. From 8.00pm onwards at the Old Golf House Hotel.
Thursday 16th July
Bar Meal - Join Andrew and Christine for a £7 special meal (3 courses) or a bar meal off the menu. Meet at 7.00 pm at the Lower Royal George pub, Scammonden - real ales available!
Sunday 19 July
Afternoon Walk - Discover Diggle!
A 3-4 mile walk to see the railway tunnel at Diggle (and perhaps the pub too!). Follow the A62 Oldham road to Standedge (highest point). Just after the cutting, pass the car park on left and take next left turn signed Diggle. There are various pull-in areas/lay-bys soon after you turn down this road, where you can park.

From 8pm onwards.

Walk and Raspberries - A hilly walk of about 3 miles and then help to eat up the raspberries in his garden with ice cream. Boots advisable for the walk.

Huddersfield Library Foyer Cabinet - for 1 week commencing Monday 27 July
Tuesday 28 July
Evening Walk - a walk around Jagger Green maximum 3 miles. Meet at 7.15 pm at the Rock Inn, Holywell Green (limited on road parking available).
