G'day from Downunder - October
Wednesday 1st October 2008
I'll start with the weather, which I feel will be quite topical. We have had some fabulous weather here recently. The first two weeks after my arrival were quite wet and we had quite a lot of rain and again these last few days we have had rain, but in between it has been exceptionally dry and I wish you could send some of the rain I understand you have been having.
Unfortunately, my Mum and Dad have both been poorly since I arrived and I have been able to help them a lot, fortunately they are now both making good progress and I am able to start doing other things. My daughter and grandchildren are all well and of course the children are growing very fast. I have started teaching at a High School south of Perth 3 days a week and luckily I have a really easy timetable. The position will last until Christmas when the school year ends here. After that I am hoping to get some supply work until late April when I will be returning to UK.
Paul is keeping me informed about all the events that are happening in IVC and Keith is forwarding the Bulletin to me each month so I am able to stay in touch with what you are all doing. I hope you have a very successful Annual General Meeting in October and wish the new committee every success with running the club in 2008/9. I'm looking forward to seeing Patricia when she visits Perth very soon now on her holiday.
It is spring here and the Western Australian wildflowers are all in full bloom, they are truly unique and breathtaking. The hot weather will begin in earnest within the next two months and I feel I will melt as it has been very pleasant here so far.
Well folks, that's about it for now.
Kind regards to you all.
