Stroll - Camera Problem

Hi all

Some time ago I decided to take up photography with the idea of getting out and about, in an attempt to get fit. Once fitter hoping to join in with our walks.

On one of my strolls my camera (Cannon 400D SLR) developed a problem. Here is my story......

Being a nice and sunny day I decided to take myself, said camera with fully charged batteries and instruction book for a stroll in the fresh air.

I parked the car at Sowerby Bridge basin, loaded myself up with my camera bag, lenses and handbag (there must be an easier way), I considered leaving my handbag in the boot of the car but decided against it, didn't want to risk being stolen.

I hadn't got far on my stroll before I wanted to take a pic. I fumbled in my camera bag for the camera, zipped up the bag, then switched the camera on.

At rfirst thought I'd done something wrong as couldn't take a pic. Maybe I'd forgotten to insert the battery. Checked, yes newly charged battery in place. Still wouldn't work, had I forgotten to put the memory card in the camera, although didn't think would affect it switching on, checked, yes it was there. Mmmmm tried my spare newly charged battery, no luck. Oh dear. The walk didn't seem very inviting now. Headed home. Put t 'kettle on. Checked the batteries. They both seem charged.

Since then I've checked the second battery which is used to backup the date etc, replaced it with a new one but doesn't seem to make a difference.

Help anyone?

Gail
