Around Ogden
Wednesday 6th April, 2011 Jean, Jasper and Deborah set off after 7 pm around Ogden Reservoir. Three quarters round, Phil Daniel telephoned to say Roger, Ken and himself had arrived. We decided we would meet in the pub, The Causeway for a meal. Unknown to Jean and myself, the three wise men commenced in the opposite direction to our starting point and hey presto! We met up quite soon. (By-the-way, we saw a beautiful Heron!) Jean, (doggy) Jasper and Deborah walked another circuit of Ogden Reservoir with Phil, Ken and Roger (Well it was a beautiful evening!) The weather was perfect! Calm water, blue sky and sun - what else do we need? Yes, you got it - food! When we ventured into the pub, Catherine and Anthony had arrived. We purchased our drinks, decided from the vast array of menus, what we wanted to eat and sat at a table. Unfortunately, Roger eager to sit down, broke the bench and seem to dip down rapidly into a little hollow. Fortunately, Roger was not hurt and we all had a giggle! Unfortunately, Roger could not find his keys (house and car). We did not want to walk a third time round the reservoir and gleefully Roger found the keys in Ken's car while we were poking our fingers into the spongy, upholstery of the broken bench. A few had starters Those who did not were starving. The food did not arrive until 9.30 p.m. The food was excellent. Never-the-less, next time we may eat at another pub nearby - hush! hush! You missed an excellent evening stroll of fresh air and sunshine! Hopefully, see you next time.
