Club Nights are held every Wednesday except the first of each month at the Old Golf House Hotel, Outlane.Directions as follows:
From Halifax:
A629 to Ainley Top roundabout, take 4th exit onto A643 (Lindley Moor road). Continue to Mount roundabout, take 3rd exit (not M62) onto A640 Old Golf House is located on the left after approx 1/2 mile.
From Huddersfield:
From ring road, take A640 (first Trinity Street, then Westbourne Road, finally New Hey road) Continue to Mount roundabout, take 2nd exit, then as Halifax directions.
This is an informal "drop in" evening where people come and go as they please from 8.00 pm onwards for a drink and a chat in the main bar area.
Club Night Riddle
A comment made by Sharon about the names of past club night venues prompted the following lines. We've used various meeting places over the years. Our last move was from the Great House in Elland to the Grey Horse in Birchencliffe, and caused a few headaches ….
From Elland's Great House to the new Grey Horse
Caused a little confusion all round,
For some said 'Grey House' and others 'Great Horse' -
It was such a similar sound
So where are we now? We're moving again.
Is it a house or a horse? Is it grey?
It's one of those three and something else too,
As from horses to courses we move.
There isn't a horse, it's not 'grey' but it's 'old',
And golf is the name of the game,
For a new meeting place is about to unfold
And here's that important name:
Give me an O for Old
And a G for Golf
And an H-O-U-S-E
For the Old Golf House is our new meeting place
Be there at the number 1 tee!
NB If it's really a game of golf you're after, you'll need to go up the road to the new golf house, as they only serve up food and drink at the Old Golf House!.......................Sylvia
